Newly Admitted Graduate Students for 2009-2010 Academic
Year
We provide a variety of on-campus housing options available to single
and married graduate students. About 60% of Caltech's graduate student
population lives in campus housing. New students who submit a housing
application by our application deadline, 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2009, and are
willing to live in any graduate residence or can provide at least two
eligible housing choices on their application form, are guaranteed an
on-campus room their first year at Caltech.
Individuals arriving outside of business hours who
have not made prior arrangements with the Housing Office at least three
business days in advance will be subject to a one-time, non-refundable
$150.00 fee.
2009-2010 housing application forms and housing rates are available
here.
While first-year students have priority to receive an on-campus room,
continuing students are subject to a housing lottery each May. Continuing
students who make the housing lottery cut-off have priority over new students
to receive the room of their first choice.
If you prefer to locate
your own off-campus housing, please visit our off-campus rental listing at
Places4Students.
Pasadena's local newspaper, the Star News, offers additional rental
listings at www.pasadenastarnews.com.
A list of local
motels is available at www.admissions.caltech.edu/visiting/accommodations.
