Cancellation Charges
For all contracts, if the cancellation is due to academic
ineligibility, withdrawal, or transfer to another university, there
are no cancellation fees. If the cancellation is submitted by August
15, 2008 there is no cancellation fee. Otherwise, there is a cancellation
fee AND a required notification of cancellation. The cancellation
fee is $150 if the notification is given on or before September 26,
2008, and $300.00 thereafter. In addition, the resident must follow the
check-out procedures outlined below.
Termination due to academic ineligibility withdrawal,
or graduation:
The resident's contract will be terminated and
the resident must complete check-out procedures effective the 15th day
from notification of student ineligibility. All refunds for housing will be
prorated based on the last day of residence. Failure to complete the
check-out procedures within the prescribed time period will result in
an improper check-out fee of $50.00 and an additional $35.00 per day to be
billed directly to the tenant until such procedures are completed.
Refunds:
When applicable, resident's room charges will be
prorated on resident's check-out date, based on a 13 week per term schedule. For
residents of Avery House or the On-Campus Houses, board program fees will
continue to be charged until the completion of check-out procedures.
Check-out Procedure
The following procedures must be completed
for proper check-out:
- All personal possessions are removed
from the room
- The check-out form must be completed and submitted with
any room key to the Housing Office
- The contract cancellation form must be completed and submitted
Until the above procedures are completed,
resident will be charged for room and board fees, and any applicable penalty
charges.
The Housing Office is not responsible for items left in rooms after
resident check-out or contract termination.
