Fall 2008 Undergraduate Student Housing Early Arrival Request Form

This form is intended for Caltech undergraduate students with academic year contract reservations only.  If you will be arriving early please submit this form by August 22, 2008 for Pre-Season Athletes and by September 2, 2008 for all other students (with at least one week's prior notice to arrival date).

This form is required if you fall into one of the following categories:

• Pre-Season Athletes: arriving before September 21, 2008 for new students and September 26, 2008 for returning students.
• New International Students (participating in International Orientation): arriving before September 14, 2008
• New Students: arriving before September 21, 2008
• Returning students: arriving before September 26, 2008

Early arrival housing will be available starting August 27, 2008 for pre-season athletes, September 14, 2008 for international students and September 15, 2008 for all other students into the student's fall housing assignment. Arrivals prior to September 14th may not be available in the student's contracted fall assignment.

This service is NOT available to those students without a fall housing reservation!!!

General Information

1. The early arrival housing fees will be charged based on daily prorated summer term rates:

2. Early athletes, international students and new in-coming students will see a charge for early arrival housing prior to the general fall contract start date of September 26, 2008 on their October 2008 Bursar bill. In most cases, these charges will be covered by Athletics for pre-season athletes and by Student Affairs for those participating in International and New Student Orientations. If these charges will be covered by another department, a credit for those housing charges will be processed immediately after the charge is processed or by the November 2008 Bursar bill at the latest.

3. New students attending International Student Orientation will not be charged for housing from 9/14/2008 to 9/20/2008.

4. Individuals arriving after business hours without a confirmed early arrival request submitted at least three business days in advance will be subject to a one-time, non-refundable fee of $150.00 if they wish to check in during that time (subject to availability). Individuals arriving during business hours will not be charged that fee for making last minute early arrival arrangements (subject to availability).
