Housing Lottery
Returning graduate students Lottery Housing Application for 2025-2026 will be available starting Tuesday, April 15, 2025 and must be submitted by Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Our goal is to provide as many graduate students with lottery housing as possible within the spaces available. We encourage all students who are interested in campus housing to submit a lottery application.
Important Information
- 2025-2026 Housing Lottery Application Available April 15 - April 30. Go to access.caltech and select "My Housing."

Important Dates

| April 5 11am- 12pm | SFE Roommate Mixer in the Catalina Central Rec Room- first 30 minutes will be open to grads who identify as female and non-binary; 2nd half of the hour will be open to All Grads |
| April 15 | 2025-2026 Housing Lottery Application goes live |
| April 15 12pm-1pm | Graduate Housing Lottery Info Session in the Catalina Central Rec Room with SFE |
| April 18 7pm-8pm | SFE Roommate Mixer in the Catalina Central Rec Room- All Grads |
| April 30 | Deadline to submit 2025-2026 graduate housing lottery applications to the Housing Office |
| May 1 – July 31 | Notify Housing Office if vacating during the Summer (Intent to Vacate Form) |
| May 1 – July 31 | No cancellation fee for current 2024-2025 housing contract |
| May 9 by 5:00 pm | Housing Office will post lottery results and guaranteed housing cut-off number |
| May 12 – May 16 | Housing Office will select alternate or new assignment with residents |
| May 31 | 2025-2026 contracts due to the Housing Office, otherwise fall reservation will be forfeited |
| June 2 – July 31 | Move period for residents with new housing assignments (when unit is available) |
| June 8 | Last day to cancel 2025-2026 housing reservation without a penalty fee |
| June 9 – Aug 31 | There will be a $200.00 fee to cancel 2025-2026 housing reservation |
| July 3 | Housing Office will be closing at 2:00pm |
| July 4 | Housing Office will be closed for an Institute holiday |
| July 31 by 12:00 noon | End of 2024-2025 housing contract. Last day for residents without 2025-2026 housing assignments to vacate housing. |
| August 29 | Housing Office will be closing at 2:00pm |
| September 1 | Housing Office will be closed for an Institute holiday |
| September 2 | Start of 2025-2026 housing contract for those not already in Caltech Housing |
| After September 1 | If Resident terminates his/her contract with fifteen (15) days written notice to Housing Office without cause or for any cause other than a permissible cause as set forth in the grad contract, there is a fee of $350.00 |
